Despite training for most of my life as an athlete, it was as an assistant football coach tasked with creating the teams off season program where I discovered my passion for physical preparation and helping athletes reach their full potential. I immersed myself in the topic to create the best program possible. The results the athletes had fueled that passion. From there, I went on to receive a master’s degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention.
Soon after, I stopped coaching football and began training athletes in various sports at the world renowned DeFranco’s Gym. It was there I got to work with high level professional athletes like Pro Bowl Offensive Guard Ali Marpet in football, to Michael Perez in combat sports, who I helped prepare for several fights, including a title bout. I also helped prepare athletes for the NFL Combine, worked with college athletes in various sports, as well as youth athletes in various sports as they prepared for their seasons. That work continued with athletes from the pro level to the youth level at Freak Strength. In both gyms I was surrounded by some of the best coaches in the country, and continued to develop my knowledge and skills.
As the father of 3 young children, I wanted to spend more time with them and be involved in their activities. That led to the creation of Carozza’s Strength & Performance Training. I only accept a small number of clients and work closely with them to build their self-confidence, reach their full potential, and help them realize the limits they thought they had were merely plateaus.
